Family House, Vác
While designing this house, one of the main aspects was to create a noise- and wind-proof, sunny, covered terrace with access to the garden. The positioning of the living room serves as a protecting shield from the noise of the motorway running nearby. The part of the building that houses the bedrooms also protects the terrace from the prevailing winds. The living room and the kitchen, as well as the master bedroom and its bathroom, all have panoramic views. The living area consists of a living room, a dining room and a kitchen with high ceiling. The fireplace is visible directly from the entrance of the house. The living area is nicely lit by the sunny windows and skylights. The wide window of the living room, dinig room and the kitchen faces the terrace and the protected corner of the garden. You can reach the entrance of the house from the garage, walking under the canopy. The main entrance of the house is accessible barrier-free from the gate of the property.
The south-west and south-east windows of the living quarters provide solar gain during winter. The high-pitched roof, situated above the bedrooms, could be an ideal place for solar panels. To reduce heat in the summer, windows, indicated on the floor-plan, are equipped with shades or blinds. To air the house during the warmest months, the upper glass-section of the front door, positioned in the direction of the prevailing winds, could be opened. Hot air could be released through the skylights of the living room.
