Family house construction in Gödöllő on a steep sloping site

As an architect supervisor, the construction process was supported by my solutions to the following problems.

safe retaining of the construction area
After the excavation work was completed, a heavy summer rainstorm caused significant erosion at the edge of the construction area. The soil mechanics report prepared for the site was not usable, and its author was unwilling to cooperate. I recommended involving a new soil mechanic engineer. During the on-site soil mechanics visit, it turned out that the soil on the site was erosion-sensitive sand. The soil mechanic recommended retaining the construction area. After evaluating several options, the construction area retaining was completed to ensure safe construction.

structural plans
During the review of the structural design before construction, it became doubtful that the reinforced concrete slab under the fireplace on the first floor was not reinforced. Following my recommendation, the structural engineer reinforced the floor slab in the plan. The terrace reinforcing were inconsequent, so additional reinforcement were added. We also reinforced the driveway: at my suggestion, the driveway become a reinforced concrete slab based on the building wall and a foundation. As a result, the summer thunderstorms after the building was completed did not cause significant damage to the driveway, while the sidewalk and heat pump foundation next to it were washed away by the sudden downpour.

facade doors and windows
Unfortunately, the facade window and door contractor excluded me from the survey, which they messed up. Due to the windows and doors being manufactured in the wrong size, the floor height had to be modified.

interior stair
Together with the contractor, we made some minor modifications to the staircase layout, so that the lower surfaces of the staircase arms meet at an edge, at the turning edge. Since the staircase appears like a sculpture in the living room, we managed to make this architectural element more beautiful.

waterproofing
The waterproofing under the structural wall had to be replaced with load-bearing waterproofing. The basement walls were waterproofed in the summer heat. The plans contained a waterproofing ideal for cold winter installation. In such cases, it is advisable to replace the waterproofing with a waterproofing that performs excellent in summer.
The terrace in front of the living room was covered with high-quality tiles. Because of this, I suggested a new slope system so that the tiles would not have to be cut at a 45-degree angle due to the slope. The terrace in front of the living room now looks very elegant.
